PICO DEL NEVERO

    Hoy hemos realizado la ascensión al pico del Nevero (2209m). Comenzamos la subida desde el puerto de Navafría por una pista que atraviesa un bello pinar.

    Today we've climbed Nevero peak (2209m). We start the ascent from the Navafría mountain crossing by a path through a beautiful pine tree forest.

    Poco a poco el pinar va desapareciendo y llegamos a una llanura que son la cima de estas antiguas montañas.

    After a while the pine tree forest disappears and we get to a plain which is the top of this ancient mountains.

CASCADA DEL PURGATORIO / EL PURGATORIO WATERFALL

     Hoy hemos realizado una excursión a la cascada del Purgatorio, en el precioso valle del Lozoya. Este valle es un paraíso de verdor y agua.

     Today we´ve gone hiking to El Purgatorio waterfall, in the beautiful Lozoya Valley. This valley is a paradise full of greenness and water.

    Y después de un agradable paseo, llegamos a la cascada, muy refrescante en un caluroso día de finales de Junio.

    And after a nice walk, we get to the waterfall, really refreshing in a hot, end-of-June day.

LA BOLA DEL MUNDO CON NIEVE / LA BOLA DEL MUNDO SNOWCAPPED

     Unas fotos tomadas en La Bola del Mundo (2.265 m) hoy. La primavera está comenzando, pero aquí arriba el invierno continúa. Las montañas de España, con más nieve que nunca gracias a la húmeda y fría primavera que hemos tenido hasta ahora.


    Some photos taken today at La Bola del Mundo (2,265m). Springtime has already begun, but up here winter continues. More snow than ever on the mountains of Spain thanks to the wet and humid springtime we have had so far.

INVIERNO TARDIO / LATE WINTER

      Este invierno está siendo bastante suave en las montañas del centro de España. Casi no se ha visto la nieve en sus cimas. Parece que esta es la tónica últimamente: inviernos suaves y cada vez más cortos. ¿Será el calentamiento global o sólo una racha de años cálidos?

     This wintes is being quite mild in the mountains of central Spain. There hasn´t been almost any snow on its tops so far. It seems to be the general tone in these last years: mild and shorter winters. ¿Is it because of global warming or is it just a spell of warm years?


     Hoy por fin se ha podido ver el monte Abantos nevado en  El Escorial.

     Today we´ve  finally been able to see mount Abantos snowcapped in El Escorial.
